Dermal Filler
Did you know that many visible signs of aging can be traced back to volume loss? As facial tissues thin out, lines become etched around the nose and mouth and cheeks look a little hollow. Dermal fillers can replace lost volume to help smooth wrinkles, plump the skin, and restore a more youthful appearance. They can also be used to add definition to the cheeks, chin, nose and mouth areas and to correct eye bags and under-eye hollows also known as tear troughs.
What does the treatment involve?
Dermal fillers treatment involves injecting a medically developed solution under the skin with a fine needle to enhance facial features and plump and fill lines, grooves or sunken areas. At EFA we only use high quality products such as Juvederm.
Administered correctly by a trained professional, dermal fillers can subtly smooth, soften, contour and tone the skin; restore youthful plumpness and enhance and define your features. Here are a few of the common issues dermal fillers can help address:
Smooth out lines around nose and mouth (a.k.a. marionette lines, smile lines, and parentheses)
Enhance & restore volume to sunken cheeks or temples
Diminish vertical lip lines
Plump & enhance the lips
Smooth out a chin crease
Improve symmetry among facial features
How long will the results of dermal filler last?
The effects of dermal fillers can last for up to 18 months but this will vary from person to person. It depends on your skin, the area you have treated and the amount and type of filler used.
Dermal Filler Before and After
Most patients will appreciate immediate results following their filler treatment. However, it can take anywhere from 7-10 days following injection to see the “final result” (when the treatment fully settles and any procedure-related swelling or bruising fully subsides). Before treatment, as shown in the photograph below left, you can see the client has a softer jawline and chin. In the photograph below right, taken immediately after treatment, you can see how there is a subtle increase in jawline and chin contour and definition.
