Lip Augmentation
Lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure performed to improve the appearance of the lips by making them look fuller and plumper. Generally, plump and full lips make a person look healthier and more youthful since the lips often thin out as a person ages. Lip fillers provide a quick and easy way to add extra volume and shape to lips.
What does the treatment involve?
A medically developed solution is carefully injected into the lips by a qualified practitioner. We only ever use Juvéderm® Ultra for our lip fillers, which contains hyaluronic acid; a naturally occurring substance that retains moisture to boost hydration and elasticity. The inbuilt local anesthetic in the product makes the procedure more gentle and lessens some of the discomfort associated with other options.
How long will the results of lip filler last?
Lip fillers typically last between 9-12 months, but this can vary depending on several factors including the volume of filler injected. Lifestyle factors, such as smoking or sun exposure, can also affect how long the results last as well as how quickly your body breaks down the filler.
Lip Augmentation Before and After
Before treatment, as shown in the photograph below left, you can see a slight loss of definition and the lack of a feminine pout. In the photograph below right, taken immediately after treatment, you can see how there is a subtle increase in fullness of the lip, better definition of the aesthetically important areas of the lip and minimal bruising.
